Medical Device Sales is known for being very competitive and having a very tough interview process. Today’s guest is still in college and was able to land a position with one of the top medical device companies in the world! He not only landed the job, but got several other offers! Jonathan shares his tips on how he broke in while still having a month before he graduates!

Jonathan first got interested in medical device sales after having 3 surgeries, but seeing the reps show up to his doctor’s office for follow ups. He became dedicated to breaking in and started educating himself through podcast, YouTube, and reaching out to reps.

Jonathan’s Tips

There’s Always a Place for Top Performers - You need to show why you’re the right candidate and show that you will make an impact once you break in.
Network - Learn the lifestyle, position, and advice from people already doing the job.
Understand the Lifestyle - Medical Device Sales is not a 9-5 job and you need to know what you’re getting yourself into.
Be Willing to learn - When reaching out to reps show that you’re hungry and want to learn, because once you break in you will be learning all the time
It Only Takes 1 - You only need 1 manager to take a shot on you.

Jonathan is the perfect example of breaking through barriers to land his dream job. He didn’t care that he didn’t have a degree yet. He didn’t care that some people thought he was too young.

He put his head down and went to work showing that he is going to make an impact on the territory that hires him. So happy for you Jonathan!
