This is a common misconception I hear…. Medical Device Sales is Easy.
For some reason there is a stigma that all medical device sales rep do is hang out with doctors, go to dinners, and make a lot of money. That sounds amazing, but this isn’t the reality. There’s so much.
First off, I want to state there’s no job where you have the opportunity to make $100k+/year that’s super easy. You’re going to have to work, make sacrifices, deal with stress, and more.
The best way I can explain it to people is that breaking into medical device sales is like learning a new language. You have some much to learn and so much responsibility once you break, you’re going to wear 100 different hats. The reality is you’re going to work long days, deal with a lot of fires, and driving a ton.
Again, I absolutely love this profession, but I want to make sure that if you’re considering Medical Device Sales you know it’s not just an easy cake walk where you hang out with surgeons, eat dinners, and make a lot of money while barely working.
